DIRECTIONS TO OUR HINSDALE ISLAND CABIN:
Good News!! All roads to the Marina are paved asphalt
Head north on Interstate 35 to the Highway 33 exit, this is just
past the Big Bear Casino.
Follow Highway 33 north through the town of Cloquet. After about
20-25 miles you will merge into Highway 53.
Proceed north on Highway 53 to the town of Cook.
Cook is the last town, get food and drink here, the Marina will
have some item but is somewhat limited. There is off-sale liquor
at Timbuktu Marina which also has bait, gas, food, ice cream and
souvenirs.
After the Last Chance Municipal Liquor Store you will see County
24. Take a right there.
This will take you north thru town over the railroad tracks,
continue on County 24.
County 24 will take you along the western side of Lake Vermilion.
At the large Lake Vermilion Resorts sign about 3-4 miles past
the town of Cook on County 24 take right there at County 77
Continue on this road until you get to the end of the road. County
77 will change names from County 77 to County 540, still the same
road. At the end of the road (County 540) is Timbuktu Marina,
you are here! Parking is a a DNR public parking facility just
behind the marina. You may ask one of the Timbuktu staff as to
lake directions to Paul and Julie Schwartz place from the marina.
The cabin is about 1.5 miles by boat. Call with any questions.
